6 inch Ball Valve

For valve products, we usually use the nominal diameter (DN) to indicate their sizes. The 6 inch ball valve corresponds to DN150mm, that is, the diameter is 150 millimeters.
Selecting the correct size of the valve is very import for the normal operation of the fluid pipeline system. If the demention of the valve is too small, it may lead to insufficient fluid flow. On the other hand, if the demention of the valve is too large, it may cause unnecessary waste and even cause safety issues. Therefore, when purchasing a valve, it is essential to determine the appropriate diameter according to the actual requirements and working conditions.
Features of 6 in ball valves
- The 6 inch valve is designed with an auxiliary seat emergency seal system. Once the soft seal seat is damaged, emergency sealing can be performed by injecting the appropriate sealant into the auxiliary seal system. Emergency seals can also be used to flush and lubricate seat areas as necessary to keep seat areas clean without affecting sealing. The stem also has an emergency seal design for emergency sealant filling and flushing lubrication;
- It is designed with fire protection construction. The fire protection structure is designed in accordance with API 607. In the event of a fire, the metal seat will be immediately in contact with the ball after the soft seal seat is burned, to prevent the valve leakage caused by greater impact;
- The 6 inch valve body wall thickness has defferent designs, carbon steel body, seat, bottom cover are in accordance with ASTM B733 surface chemical coating. In addition, if the user needs special customization, WAYVALVE also has a variety of anti-corrosion materials for selection to meet the working conditions;
- in order to prevent the valve stem during the maintenance because of the excessive pressure in the cavity flying out, there is a design to prevent flying out of the stem.

The application of 6 inch valves.
6 inch valves are widely used in various industrial pipeline systems. Due to their moderate caliber and pressure-bearing capacity, 6 inch valves are suitable for general fluid media such as water, steam, and oil products, as well as some special media that are corrosive or operate under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. When selecting a valve, the appropriate valve type and material should be chosen according to the actual operating conditions and the characteristics of the medium.

What is the maximum size of a ball valve?
The pipe diameter range of ball valves typically starts from DN15 (1/2 inch) and can reach up to DN600 (24 inches). This range covers the pipe diameter requirements of most industrial and commercial applications. However, the actual pipe diameter range may also be influenced by factors such as the manufacturer, working pressure, temperature, and other specific considerations. In special cases ultra-large pipe diameters can be maximum 60”, that is DN1500.
