Swing Check Valve

The swing check valve consists of valve body, bonnet cover, valve disc, and a hinge. The valve disc is disc – shaped and rotates around the hinge pin outside the valve seat passage. Its passage is designed to be streamlined, and the flow resistance is smaller than that of the straight-through lift check valve. The swing check valve is particularly suitable for large-diameter pipelines.
The opening and closing mainly relies on the pressure of the fluid and the weight of the valve disc. When the fluid flows in the forward direction, the valve disc rotates around the pin pushed by the pressure of the flow and opens, allowing the fluid to pass through. When the fluid flows in the reverse direction, the valve disc falls to close because of the weight of itself, and the pressure of the reverse flow, thus preventing the backflow of the fluid.
Main features of the swing check valve.
- The switch can be up to 100,000 times;
- Full flow area, low flow resistance;
- Less likely to accumulate debris;
- Simple structure and convenient maintenance.

The application of the swing check valve
This valve can be installed at the water outlet of the pump or the water outlet pipe to prevent backflow of the medium, and can be installed in sewage. For specific use, please consult Topwells company ltd.

What is a swing check valve for?
A swing check valve is used to prevent the backflow of fluids in a pipeline. It allows fluid to flow in one direction only. When the fluid flows in the normal direction, the valve opens due to the pressure of the fluid, enabling the fluid to pass through. When the fluid tries to flow in the opposite direction, the valve closes by the action of the valve disc swinging shut under the force of the reversed fluid flow and its own weight, thus preventing backflow and protecting the pipeline and other components from potential damage caused by reverse flow.
Can a swing check valve be installed vertically?
Yes, a swing check valve can be installed vertically, but with certain conditions. It should be installed with the flow direction upward to ensure that the valve disc can close properly under the action of gravity and the force of the reversed fluid flow. This helps to prevent backflow effectively. If installed with the flow direction downward, the valve may not function properly as the disc may not close tightly due to the influence of gravity.
