Pneumatic Trunnion Ball Valve

The pneumatic trunnion ball Valve is a new generation of high-performance ball valve, suitable for long-distance pipelines and general industrial pipelines. Special considerations have been made in its design regarding strength, safety, and resistance to harsh environments. It is suitable for various corrosive and non-corrosive media.
Compared with the floating ball valve, during operation, the force generated by the fluid pressure in front of the valve on the ball is all transmitted to the bearing, and it will not cause the ball to move towards the valve seat. Therefore, the deformation of the valve seat is small, the sealing performance is stable, and the service life is long. It is suitable for high-pressure and large-diameter applications.
Main features of the pneumatic trunnion ball Valve.
- Body:
Full-bore design of valve body ensure biggest flow capacity and low flow resistance against media. - Core:
The trunnion mounting ball design prevents seat damage and reduces seat wear dramatically comparing with floating ball valve.
The ball is precisely machined to mirror finish. And this contributes to bubble-tight shutoff and less operating torque. - Seat:
With seats on both sides, the trunnion ball valve can handle flow in both directions with 0 leakage. Seat is spring preloaded, which ensures self sealing adjustment when flow pressure changes to achieve 0 leakage. - Stem:
With upper and bottom bearings for positioning, contributes to high mechanical stability, small required initiation torque. The self-lubricate bearing prevent valve from stuck.

Which is better trunnion ball valve or floating ball valve?
The choice between a trunnion ball valve and a floating ball valve depends on specific application requirements.
For high-pressure and large-diameter applications, the trunnion ball valve is often better. It has a fixed-ball design, which can better withstand high-pressure forces and distribute the load, resulting in less wear on the valve seat and a more stable sealing performance. It is suitable for applications such as long-distance pipelines and high-pressure industrial processes.
On the other hand, the floating ball valve is more suitable for low-pressure and small-to-medium diameter applications. It has a simple structure and good sealing performance under low-pressure conditions. It is often used in some general purpose fluid control systems where the pressure is not extremely high.
In summary, neither valve is absolutely better. The selection should be based on factors such as working pressure, diameter, medium characteristics, and specific application scenarios.
